The Prague Swingmasters
www.pragueswingmasters.euProbably the eldest active Czech DJ Mr. Karel Ctibor (born September 1st 1934) along with his son Karel (known as DJ Kaya on Radio 1 and Swamp Safari Sound System) released on CD the selection of their father's (and grandfather's), half-forgotten singer Karel Ctibor, who left behind more than 300 shellac plates issued in the years 1936-1943 at the prestigious music publishers of those times (eg His Master's Voice or Odeon etc.). This project would not succeed without substantial help of Mr. Gabriel Gössel, who that all the shellac own and who deserve our immense gratitude. After the commercial success of the first CD, which we published at our own expense, then there was a double album, which was released in the prestigious label Phonogram of the FR Centrum of Frantisek Rychtarik. With the growing wave of interest in swing and electro swing the two gentlemen, even though both primarily engaged in any other style of music, agreed to try to play music that firmly anchored in the family since the late 20's and try to promote Czech and Slovak artists of 30's and 40's, as well as global standards, which has father Karel particularly rich collection. Son Karel contributes a little electro swing. And how it all looks together, you can judge for yourself at some of our events.
