Womens Foundation of Minnesota
www.wfmn.orgA DRIVING FORCE FOR GENDER & RACIAL Justice| Est. 1983 Founded in 1983, the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota is the first statewide women’s foundation in the country. We make grants, invest in research, advocate policy, and forge cross-sector partnerships to ensure community-based, community-led solutions across Minnesota. We aim to create a world of equal opportunity where women and girls -- and all people -- hold the power to create and lead safe, prosperous lives. In Minnesota, data show that girls and women, particularly from communities of color and those who live in Greater Minnesota, experience economic, safety, health, and leadership disparities that prevent them from thriving. For the Women’s Foundation of Minnesota, systems change is about shifting structures in order to reduce or eliminate barriers, increase access to opportunity, and achieve gender and racial justice. We listen and respond to community concerns and opportunities and lead systems change in three areas: - Economic Opportunity: Ensuring a Minnesota where doors to opportunity are abundant and open to all girls and women in every community, and pathways to prosperity assured. - Safety: Ensuring a Minnesota where all girls and women are free from all forms of violence and can experience their homes, schools, and communities as safe places. - Leadership: Ensuring a Minnesota where barriers are eliminated and all girls and women are respected and thrive. As a statewide community foundation, our work is fueled by the radical generosity of our donors and the groundbreaking solutions of our communities. Let us continue this essential work. Together, we’re unstoppable. More at WFMN.ORG, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and Instagram.
