In January 1998, after acquiring the assets of the former Oxypar, Petrom - Petroquímica Mogi das Cruzes started its activities, already occupying the market as the largest manufacturer of Phthalic Anhydride in Latin America, a position, in fact, that it still holds today. At that time, as a new company, Petrom had an annual production capacity of 50 thousand tons of Phthalic Anhydride, 65 thousand tons of Plasticizers and 2 thousand tons of Fumaric Acid. Subsequent investments, made to meet the growing demand for its raw materials, increased the annual production capacity of Phthalic Anhydride to 82 thousand tons, Plasticizers to 108 thousand tons, Fumaric Acid to 4 thousand tons and Isoamyl Alcohol to 18 thousand tons. Installed in an area of approximately 1 million square meters, on the Mogi-Bertioga Highway, in the State of São Paulo, Petrom today has a production area of 21 thousand square meters, where, daily, it acts 100% committed to the global standards of quality, safety and environmental responsibility.
