At the Stellenbosch Nanofiber Company (SNC) we help our customers unlock value in their existing product offerings through the development and commercial scale manufacture of advanced nanofiber materials using our patented technology platform - SNC BEST™ This high-throughput electrospinning technology enables us to produce commercial volumes of nanofiber based scaffolds, matrices, barriers and other functional membranes cost effectively. Furthermore, our team of materials scientists performs rapid development of custom scaffolds and other functional nanofiber materials according to our customers' unique product requirements, while the mass production capabilities of our technology platform ensures seamless translation from lab- to commercial scale production. SNC started as a spin-out from Stellenbosch University with the goal of commercializing proprietary high-throughput nanofiber production and processing technologies developed there. After securing funding from private and institutional investors it officially launched as The Stellenbosch Nanofiber Company (Pty) Ltd in November 2011. While its current main focus is on the development and manufacture of nanofiber materials for advanced wound care and regenerative medicine applications, the company continues to expand on its technology portfolio.
