SAMASTA GLOBAL HEALTH FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) not for profit that currently serves communities in Haiti, Guatemala and Colombia. SGHF's VISION: to relieve unnecessary suffering where there is market failure. SGHF's MISSION: use technology to decrease cost and improve the quality and patient experience of healthcare; create happier and healthier lives for both the Samasta Family and underserved populations. SGHF is divided into three branches: - PROVIDER NETWORK: built by providers, for providers, whose areas of expertise have been proven useful through telemedicine. These providers contribute their expertise to underserved areas. - SGHF TELEHEALTH: working to build a platform unlike any other telehealth platform; this one is cool. - Because of the challenges involved with serving remote, underserved communities, healthcare consultations and education are provided by connecting local community health workers with US healthcare practitioners, using laptops and cellphones, and with the assistance of established, local partner organizations.
