Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC) is an autonomous and a Not-for-Profit Organization, promoted by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and leading Life Sciences Industry Members across India(like, IPA (Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance), IPA (Indian Pharmaceutical Association), BDMA, IDMA, ACRO, ABLE, CIPI, NIPER, DIPSAR, etc), with financial support by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The key objective of the LSSSDC is to create a robust and vibrant eco-system for quality education and skill development in Life Sciences space (comprising Pharmaceuticals, Bio-Pharmaceticals and Contract Research) in the country. We work as an APEX body in Life Sciences (Pharmaceutical (Including AYUSH), Contract Research, Bio-Pharmaceuticals) Industry vertical for Skill Development Initiative in India. We have been mandated with a target of skilling appx. 3.5 million workforce covering 100% Job roles for the Life Sciences Industry to bridge the skill gap in the Industry vertical by 2022. The Mission of LSSSDC is to: • Carry out a Functional and Occupational Mapping and develop a Catalogue of Industry Occupations / Job Roles in Life Sciences sector • Develop & Set National Occupational Standards for Job Roles in the sector • Develop & Put in place an Assessment & Certification mechanism for Accreditation of Training Institutes / Trainees and Trainers • Set-up Centres of Excellence • Put in Place an Effective Labour Market Intelligence System
