The World Economic Forum's future of jobs study determined that the three most important skills for the 21st century worker are problem solving, critical thinking and creativity. However, research papers have found that these competencies are poorly deployed. The last PayScale study surveyed more than 65,000 HR managers and found that more than 60% of these managers claim recent graduates do not possess the minimum problem-solving and critical thinking skills for the job. A harvard spin-off also found that more than 50% of graduated students get an "F" in Critical Thinking. Last but not least, a study originally implemented by the NASA, and recently expanded to more than 200,000 participants, suggests that only 2% of people deploy creativity in an effective way. These are seemingly very bad news since the above research is statistically robust and depicts normalized results. However, the good news is that normal is not natural. If we were capable to use our brain in a natural fashion, using its vast potential, we would excel at these competencies and the rest of the key thinking skills. We'd solve the complex problems that populate organizations and societies, we'd apply critical thinking at a world-class level and would become creative geniuses who generate differentiated, original and value-creating initiatives. We are the inventors of Mind Mapping and other seminal methodologies that aim at fulfilling our vision: Creating a Mentally Literate World. Mental Literacy means using the brain in the way it was supposed to be used for enabling such skills as Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Creativity. During the last 40 years, Tony Buzan and a group of renowned global experts have developed and researched seminal methodologies, such as Mind Mapping, Learning How to Learn, Memory and Intelligent reading that have proven enormously successful for enabling people to use their brains in a natural way. ➨➨ Please visit buzan.us to learn more.
