Eastside Center for Family
www.eastsidecenterforfamily.comEastside Center for Family (ECFF) is a licensed behavioral health organization in Washington State. It is a locally and therapist owned* private counseling and treatment clinic in Bellevue, Washington. Treatment offerings for couples/family therapy, trauma, substance abuse and mental health issues is evidenced based relying on Gottman Method Counseling, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapies, and mindfulness approaches. We are advocates for families whose loved one is in treatment for substance abuse or mental health issues. Families improve when everyone in the family has an opportunity to get help and learn new way to cope. We believe that unifying couples and families is essential in healing the painful effects of mental and emotional pain steming from addiction and other mental health problems even to those in the midst of separation or divorce. Our approach to intervening and disrupting substance abuse occurs in a family therapy based intervention in which a kind, direct and loving conversation occurs between family members in the presence of the addicted loved one. Success in counseling is due in large part to the therapeutic relationship between counselor/therapist. John Norcross, Ph.D who headed up a therapeutic task force on evidence based therapy relationships found that “The therapy relationship accounts for why clients improve (or fail to improve) at least as much as the particular treatment method." https://societyforpsychotherapy.org/evidence-based-therapy-relationships. As a counseling team, our support of one another with a caring and compassionate tenor contributes hugely to why people feel safe with us and continue to come back year after year with new experiences for which they seek to gain support and why they bring other family members for us to help and we are so grateful to our community. We look forward to being of service. *Founder and owner Laura J. Halford, CDP, LMHC
