The ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation
www.alivenetwork.com.auThe ALIVE National Research Translation Centre to Implement Mental Health Care at Scale in primary care and community settings in Australia is funded by the NHMRC Special Initiative in Mental Health (2021-2026). It is administered by The University of Melbourne and works across 15 University partners nationally, with over 50 investigators and founding partners. Our Vision is for 'vibrant communities that support mental health and well-being to enable people to thrive.' Our research translation objective is mental health care at scale in the primary care and community settings. Our research focus is: (1) prevention across the life course (2) lived-experience informed research and (3) longer, healthier lives in priority populations such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people who live with severe mental ill-health where there are unacceptably high levels of unmet physical health needs. Our Networks that support capacity building and research translation are: * The Next Gen Researcher Network - growing mental health research leaders through a bespoke network and a lived-experience research collective. The lived-experience research collective provides tailored mentorship for career pathways to strengthen lived-experience led research. The collective actively engage in research programs and projects. * An Implementation and Translation Network (ITN) to conduct rapid implementation studies of innovative models of mental health care, adaptive co-design, demonstration projects and breakthrough research, and support for scaling and translational research into practice settings in primary care and community. * A Co-Design Living Labs Network to scale across an end to end research design to translation lived-experience informed model within mental health research in university partners and sectors. * The Alive Collective exists to enable organisations (government and non-government), peaks and individuals to join the special initiative and access the events, collaborative opportunities and training possibilities of the National Centre.
