Book Pen Pals is inspiring the next generation of book readers and writers across the country, for free. Currently, we have about 100 UK-based traditionally-published children's book writers and illustrators sending book recommendations via postcard to schools across the country. Our Pen Pals choose up to three schools to write a minimum of six postcards to over a school year, and include personalised book recommendations and writing or illustrating tips and exercises. The children are thrilled to write back to a “real” author or illustrator. This low-cost, low-effort experience is meaningful and valuable for everyone taking part: the children, the teachers and the authors and illustrators.
