The Binghamton University Investment Fund is a student-managed investment fund managing assets on behalf of the Binghamton University Foundation and School of Management. The Fund was founded in 2003 for the purpose of teaching students how to invest, and has evolved into a pipeline for front office finance recruiting at Binghamton University. Fund participants manage traditional equity positions across ten S&P 500 sectors: Communication Services, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples, Energy, Financials, Healthcare, Industrials, Materials, Technology, and Utilities. The Fund also manages an Alternatives sleeve where students oversee holdings in fixed income, real estate, private equity, commodities, cryptocurrency and net short strategies.
