The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner supports the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Matthew Barber. The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner is separate from the police and performs an important, independent scrutiny role. In Thames Valley, the office is specifically responsible for: - Seeking the public’s views on policing and community safety decisions that affect them directly - Developing and publishing the Police and Crime Plan for the Thames Valley - Keeping the public up-to-date and informed about decisions and the PCC's work - Monitoring and scrutinising the performance of the Chief Constable and Thames Valley Police - Publishing easy-to-access and transparent information about decisions, budgets, performance and governance - Working with partners to co-ordinate community safety and crime prevention activities - Commissioning support services for victims of crime
