As a premier California dance company, we provide transformational experiences through the creation, performance, and teaching of dance that fire the imagination and celebrate the human spirit. Malashock Dance values artistry, impact, collaboration, community, inclusion, and stewardship in its efforts to advance the art and experience of dance by creating original works that communicate new forms of personal and cultural expression.. Currently in its 25th season, Malashock Dance is an integral part of San Diego's vibrant arts community - providing performances, educational programs, outreach projects and classes to thousands of people each year. Founded by John Malashock in 1988, following his extensive career in dance and theater, Malashock Dance performs in various San Diego venues and events and has toured nationally and internationally. Complementing Malashock Dance's full performance schedule are the activities of The Malashock Dance School: a full range of classes for children, adults, pre-professional and professional dancers; and education and outreach activities throughout San Diego. Malashock Dance has also taken a leadership role in the creation of Dance Place San Diego housed in a spectacular historic building at the NTC Promenade in Point Loma's Liberty Station. It is the Company's home and serves the entire dance community of San Diego.
