GPC MIAMI
www.gpcmia.comGPC was established in 2014 by Gregory Wint, a graphic designer and former skater born in Jamaica and raised in South Florida. Greg was activated by skate culture from the age of 13. The most vulgar and bold, yet appealing graphics on t-shirts within the skate community birthed the idea of the brand. A single graphic tee sold to peers during his junior year in high school, generated an organic following and an unanticipated demand. Before graduating in 2013, Greg partnered with Co-Founder Jabari Smith to intensify the work ethic behind GPC. Born and raised in Miami, Bari attached a tailor-made component to the brand which is indisputably visible throughout GPC’s identity. Bari’s biggest inspiration is his mother, who throughout his childhood, swaddled an immense amount of urban culture into which paved the road into his boundless imagination. The brand evolved during a time when periodic shifts that now shape underground and urban culture in Miami were taking place. There has always been skate communities up and down South Florida. It wasn’t all connected because the lack of skate parks that were difficult to find. Discovering one was on a “if you know, you know” basis. The then underground hip-hop scene were filled with aspiring musicians’ who didn’t have an outlet. The art world was flocked by curators, artists, painters, designers, and more who were all creating but weren’t taken as serious like other cities. That time has altered and flourished, in part thanks to gentrification. The underground community, being underdogs, took full advantage of the renewal and expanded the hidden gems of Miami globally. GPC grew to embody each of these communities who defied the impact. Over 6 years, GPC has swept through the landscape of Miami streetwear and established itself as a brand known for its quality, delivery, and genuineness. We continue to expand and grow globally with all of our product being made available exclusively only from GPC.
