BRITE is a youth development program engaging teens and young adults ages 12-25 in advocacy and action around issues they care about. We promote health and well-being and seek to help change social norms that encourage, accept and allow risky activities such underage and binge drinking, impaired driving, tobacco use, prescription drug and marijuana abuse. These serious issues are not just concerns for a few “troubled” youth and their parents. They affect all of us, and it will take our community working together for things to change. Using improvisation and interactive techniques, BRITE engages discussion, explores issues, and develops personal and community solutions to these issues. BRITE is made possible through funding from Ventura County Behavioral Health Department, Alcohol and Drug Programs. We also partner with Ventura County Office of Education and school districts through their TUPE (Tobacco Use Prevention Education) grants.
