Raid Wine
raidwine.wixsite.comRaid Wine is a project conceived by three AgroParisTech students that aims to confront a locally defined notion of patrimony, the terroir, with a more global current issue, climate change. Winegrowers today face important challenges that have a direct impact on their activity. On one hand, the globalisation of trade has led to increased competition, forcing winegrowers to constantly innovate and rethink their working methods, sometimes to the detriment of product quality and even the environmental footprint. On the other hand, climate change and associated extreme weather events are disrupting these ecosystems by directly impacting the local climate. Faced with changing climatic conditions and economic contexts, winegrowers have no choice but to adapt in order to be more resilient and to continue to produce wines with the typical characteristics for which they are renowned. How do winegrowers integrate the constant changes in agronomy and economics into their work on the terroir? What response do they give to the evolution of the terroirs induced by climate change? Raid Wine is going to South America for 5 months to visit the different wine regions. The team will push the doors of prestigious wine estates to work alongside winegrowers and provide answers to these problems.
