Odyssey Innovation Ltd
www.odysseyinnovation.comOdyssey Innovation Ltd is a circular economy company focused on providing a multitude of environmentally friendly marine litter solutions to its vast range of stakeholders. It is renowned worldwide as the creator of the first kayak made out of processed ALDFG via its Net Regeneration Scheme- which is a free, fully traceable and award-winning plastic waste collections scheme supporting the ambitions of some 65 stakeholders consisting of businesses, harbours across the whole of the UK and beach clean groups to adopt a best practice approach to waste disposal; occasionally the scheme is also adopted by governmental entities, private fisheries and personality eco-warriors such as Steve Green (Clean Ocean Sailing). OIL began operating in 2014 after Founder/diver/conservationist Rob Thompson encountered a dive group out in Gozo (Mediterranean) focused on protecting aquatic life by retrieving marine plastic, whilst diving. Back in the UK he chaired a similar conservationist dive group called Fathoms Free who ran similar dives along the Cornish Coastline. At the time no solutions were available to such groups wishing to dispose of the collected waste in an environmentally friendly manner so Rob embarked on setting up a route that would eventually become the UKs first ALDFG recycling scheme with the help of Plastix A/S and Seafish. Aside from the collections aspect, OIL also manufactures, distributes and continues to create new products of its own made from ALDFG whilst also involving itself in several consultancy jobs with the government and offers its services to support cutting edge projects exploring the field of ALDFG in regional waters.
