Nilo’s mission Plastics are ingrained in nearly every aspect of modern life, particularly now. It’s a uniquely cost effective, lightweight and durable material, but at the end of its useful life, plastic turns from a global necessity to a massive global problem. But what if plastic was not wasted? What if all plastic could be repurposed, simply and effectively – on a global scale? Our mission is to develop technology that address the global waste problem, deploy globally for the betterment for our environment and humanity. Problem The escalating scale of plastic waste globally and its impact in terms of carbon emissions (thoughout it’s life cycle), pollution, ecosystems and biodiversity, human health and wellbeing, particularly in the world’s poorest countries and communities. Wastes harmful impact on the environment is one of humanity’s greatest threats. Solution Nilo technology enables all plastics, including those not currently recyclable (ocean, landfill, bio/medical, post industrial, dirty) to be converted into raw materials and combined with other waste streams to create a diverse range of products with wide ranging applications. Our technology spans both waste progressing engineering and end product manufacturing at a country and therefore global scale. These applications include construction and roading products - layer/particle/ply board, blocks, pipes, posts, surfacing products all designed to be economically viable and perform as well as current options. At end-of-life these products can themselves be reprocessed into new products. Nilo technology means that plastic becomes a valuable resource and can play a key role in a global circular economy
