It is a private entity, although of public utility. It is responsible for organizing and issuing the appropriate licenses for all competitions that are held in the national territory and that are carried out by deaf people. The FEDS wants to be recognized as a benchmark entity in the field of territorial federations at European and global level, ensuring the rights of deaf people through sport to achieve full citizenship through leadership and the strengthening of their associative movement , in addition to instilling healthy habits in the community. At an international level, it is affiliated, among others, with the International Committee for Sport for the Deaf (ICSD), the European Organization for Sport for the Deaf (EDSO) and is also a member of the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE).
