Situation: - Often banks do not fully understand income and costs and their drivers of relations with payment systems when it comes down to particular product / customer / transaction. - But it is vital to be able to properly forecast financial flows based on correct assumptions and drivers as well as monitor their efficiency Complication: - Tons of various fees from payment systems with various drivers and complicated invoices structure. - Real IRF significantly differs from the nominal one. - Lack of single approach to manage data from payment systems across internal financial and management reporting tools Solution: We developed a model to allocate payment system fees down to a single card transaction level and indicate areas for improvement i.e. costs minimization. Based on our experience we believe that 5-10% of costs could be cut within 3-6 months by implementing quick win initiatives
