FootGolf is a combination of the popular sports of soccer and golf. The game is played with a regulation #5 soccer ball at a golf course facility on shortened holes with 52 cm diameter cups. The rules largely correspond to the rules of golf. FootGolf as a game is played throughout the world in many different forms, but as a sport it is regulated by the Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG). Founded in 2011, the American FootGolf League (AFGL) is the Major League of FootGolf in the United States and the official league under the American FootGof Federation (AFGF) and Federation for International FootGolf (FIFG). The AFGL represented the United States at the first FootGolf World Cup in the beautiful city of Budapest, Hungary on June 2012 and won the Team Category at the FIFG World Cup 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Dedicated to promote and expand "The Best Game Ever Invented" in the region, the AFGL co-founded and established the other three FootGolf members of the Federation for International FootGolf in North America: the Federacion Mexicana de FootGolf, the Puerto Rico FootGolf Association and Canada FootGolf Association. The main goal of the AFGL is to run the most advanced and competitive FootGolf league and help the AFGF to create the structure to facilitate and promote the sport of FootGolf in the United States.
