Selling innovative solutions for unmet and emerging in vitro diagnostics (IVD) needs is at the heart of Magnostics’ business. Magnostics delivers these solutions to IVD manufacturers based on proprietary nanotechnology [superparamagnetic (SPM) beads] that enables significantly more efficient, sensitive and cost-effective diagnostics tests. Our business model consists of a “raw material to finished product” approach. With funding from NASA we have developed a proprietary nanotechnology to produce uniform magnetic beads with a defined size between 100 - 2,000 nm. These beads have magnetization levels 3-5 times higher than market leading beads in addition to which they have more advanced surface chemistries enabling detection in biofluids like blood where the traditional beads do not work. We also offer a customized service to in which we link specific proteins or nucleic acids to our beads. For example, we are currently working with hospitals in the Republic of Ireland to deliver CE compliant viral RNA extraction kits that allow COVID-19 to be detected rapidly and efficiently.
