www.gourmetbrewing.comDoug is a food and beverage consultant for Gourmet Brewing LLC, and is a Certified BJCP Beer and Mead Judge and Cicerone. After a successful marketing/design and manufacturing career, Doug Piper was recently bitten by the craft beer “bug” and its pursuit has become a new life passion. He brings a fresh new perspective to the fine food and craft beer market with his uniquely simple, but scientifically accurate approach. His folksy manner to craft beer appreciation is a welcome change from the typical beer journalist. Doug is fueled by the passion for understanding the nuances of the best food and beverage flavors. He considers himself to be a “forever student” eager to build an academic foundation in craft beverages and foods and stays in tune with the latest developments through continued judging, industry conferences, and coursework. He recently left a successful career in leading Product Development at Woven Electronics (recently acquired by United Technology) to pursue new passions. His past work spans decades, but include over fifteen patents and the successful creation of several business divisions including high-speed cable assemblies and high-security devices. Doug is currently focused on working as a consultant to the food and beverage market and is always interested in a challenge. Consider reaching out to him at doug@gourmetbrewing.com.
