We provide intensive outpatient groups in the community to adults with mental illness. Clients will learn increased coping skills for stabilization, reduction of symptoms, learn how to improve functioning, and how to have an enhanced quality and sense of purpose in life. Our goal is to provide comprehensive treatment to help intensive outpatient participants avoid hospitalization,prevent crisis and to help participants recover who have just been discharged from a hospitalization program. Clients learn how to avoid crisis and practice crisis prevention for stabilization. Clients receive individualized attention and excellence from our licensed and professional behavioral staff.At Suburban Psychiatric Services, clients come first. We focus on a team approach in which behavioral professionals and clients are integrated together into the treatment process.The objective of the group therapy experience is to provide a safe place where group participants realize they are not alone in their struggles, and gain coping tools and strategies that may be helpful for crisis prevention, increased understanding of themselves and others, growth, and a sense of purpose in life.
