Restoring Pride and Building Sustainability Step by Step. The Footsteps Foundation has been established to create an enabling environment for job creation, poverty reduction, community development and growth - in especially small distant vulnerable rural communities in South Africa. Current and future research focus on lessons learned from other regions, towns, similar cases, value chains and research successfully undertaken in other parts of the world. We apply the principles of socio-economic and ecological innovation and entrepreneurship to structure, plan, initiate, negotiate, connect, resource, guide, govern and monitor the implementation of a number of regional programmes and local projects. One of our pilot projects have been initiated in the small rural Karoo town of Fraserburg, where more than 25 so-called "SEE the difference" projects and small businesses are being launched.
