Within UPI system Sarajevo, the united of economy traffic and industry was done by UPI Bank unit and with this began the era of computerization. Energoinvest, Sarajevo insurance and UPI together used computer services at Energoinvest building on Stup, shared 40,20,40% of the available capacity respectively. In 01.10.1977 a group of people moved from UPI BANK to OOUR Center for data processing and rationalization within the RO Institute for Research and Development. In 1980 a computer was purchased, from then, the development of applications and processing of data like finance, wages, fixed assets, RUR-computer control of goods for UPI system started considerably. Until 13.12.1982, operates within the RO. From 14.12.1982 to 28.10.1990. Operates under the name UPI RO Institute of Information Technology, UPI RO INIT. From 29.10.1990. to 11.07.1991. operates as UPI DP Institute of Information Technology. From 08.11.1991. to 07.06.2006. operates as the Institute of Information Technology. From 08.06.2006, until present day, operates under name Institute of Information Technology dd Sarajevo, INIT d.d.Sarajevo, acquired by Agrokor dd Zagreb as shareholder of 67% and other small shareholders of 33% in 2004.
