Since 1927 the cable production plant in Maliaño – Cantabria has been producing both copper and optical fiber cables for the most relevant telecom and railways operators worldwide. For more than 80 years this historical plant has been a reference for the cable industry operating under different names – Standard Electrica, ITT, Alcatel Cable, Nexans Iberia and B3 Cable Solutions –with an extensive range of industrial and technical resources to fulfil the most relevant international specs. In October 2013, and after more than one year of closing due to the B3 Group bankruptcy, the plant was acquired by the Wilms Group starting the activity with the name of Standard Cableteam Spain S.L. After the two first month, mainly devoted to repair and adjust the production lines after such a long stopping time, the plant is now prepared to face any domestic and international tender with all the technical and financial warranties. Nowadays the Standard Cableteam Spain portfolio includes more than 2.000 references including copper -outdoor, indoor and drop telecom cables; signaling cables for railways application; instrumentation and control cables – and optical fiber – mutitube cables up to 512 fibers, drops, mini, micro cables and FTTH.
