The Superhero Project

www.superheroprojectkids.org

The Superhero Project interviews kids and teens with serious illnesses and disabilities about their superhero alter egos – what they stand for, what powers they have, what they look like and how they make the world a better place. The storytelling collaboration continues when artists design the characters the children have described, creating a visual representation of their strength, courage and resilience. Families receive inspiring posters of their superheroes to treasure forever. Nearly 1000 superheroes have participated and touched our artists with their creativity, humor, kindness and determination. The Superhero Project recognizes the tremendous gifts and unique abilities of each child who participates, and is free and open to families around the world. None of our work would be possible without The League of Extraordinary Artists, over 400 global volunteers who share their time & talent to create meaningful gifts for our superhero kids. One mom of a child with disabilities shared: “As parents on this journey, we are regularly faced with having to detail out all the things our kiddo can’t do. This is a cool and meaningful way to showcase the awesomeness of our differently abled warriors!”
