Spearfish Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is one of South Dakota's leading economic development groups, managing economic development activities for the City of Spearfish. SEDC is committed to growing Spearfish by expanding business development and job creation. We want to make Spearfish the community of choice for economic opportunities in South Dakota. SEDC was formed as a private non-profit development corporation in 1980. The organization was initiated by a handful of local business people who were concerned about the economy of Spearfish, and the replacement of jobs lost due to major fire at a local sawmill.
