WIKID is an acronym for Wisdom – Insight – Knowledge – Information – Data. It is represented in pyramid form with Wisdom at the top: data is distilled into information, hopefully then into knowledge, but rarely into insight and wisdom. Much of our consulting work has been in the railroad industry, starting in 1990 with Canadian National Railways (CN) which challenged the applicability of value propositions to the ‘commodity’ business of railroading. CN was a fantastic client undergoing an amazing transition from a high cost state-owned corporation to the most profitable public railroad in North America today.
