Little Wings is dedicated to the conservation of monarch butterflies. Our mission is to help raise awareness of the declining monarch population and the need to create milkweed pollinator gardens across Canada. Why milkweed? Milkweed is the only plant that monarch caterpillars eat. Unfortunately, milkweeds are quickly disappearing from the Canadian landscape due to the use of pesticides and land development. With your support we can help increase the monarch butterfly population through the planting of more milkweed plants, and creating pollinator gardens across Canada. How you can help: We are actively collecting donations online at www.littlewings.ca. Every donor will receive a packet of milkweed seeds from the Ontario Seed Company. At Home: By planting milkweed seeds at home you can have a direct and positive impact in helping to increase the monarch butterfly population. School Programs: We want to partner with schools and their own fundraising efforts. Milkweed seed packets are an easy way to raise funds for school programs while getting students and parents involved in the conservation of the monarch butterfly. The monarch butterfly needs our help now, so that future generations can enjoy the sight of seeing this beautiful butterfly.
