Who We Are Africa Outreach USA Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Founded in 2008 by Gus & Madeline Chikamba, the organization's mission is to empower under privileged children with faith based Habit Success Patterns needed to overcome day to day social challenges that rob kids of hope & prosperity. What We Do We employ the positive values associated with sport, (basketball & soccer in particular) to impart lifetime skills and modify behavior among under served children in Zimbabwe & across Africa. The strategy is to deal with the following social challenges & begin to break the poverty cycle. - Keep Kids in School - Promote Gender Balance - Help Kids Put God First - Build HIV/AIDS Firewall Around Children - Help kids Develop a Passion for Sport How We Do It We are privileged to work with game experts like the Legendary NBA Hall of Famer Dr. Jack Ramsay, the Ramsay Family, Sharon & Jim O’Brien, that assist with strategic guidance & training resources for use in teaching sound game fundamentals. Additional support & contributions from Westfield Youth Soccer, Indiana Soccer, Indy Eleven, Traders Point Christian Church, & the donor community have made it possible for Africa Outreach USA to collect & ship to Zimbabwe new/used sporting gear for use in Community Youth Sports Programs where kids typically play barefoot.
