Faceted Fitness
www.facetedfitness.comWe tend to think of health and fitness in regards to just the physical aspect of it- the diet and exercise parts. However, fitness is actually multi-faceted: Physical (nutrition, physical activity, biometrics, annual check-ups) Mental (overall mindset, discipline despite feelings, will power, quality of input and output) Emotional (motivation, inspiration, our feelings and perception of others’ feelings) Spiritual (prayer, meditation) Social (quality of our interactions with others, support network) Environmental (what you surround yourself with- people, sights, sounds, ideas that you allow to affect the other facets) Every other facet of fitness will affect the physical one for better or for worse. When one is unhealthy, the body in some way suffers along with it. I believe everyone has God-given purpose while they’re on this earth, and our bodies are our physical vessels through which we fulfill that purpose. When we feel better, know better, and believe better, we do better. As someone who’s been behind a desk for over a decade, carried a child and subsequently battled diastasis recti and postpartum depression, and dealt with my own injuries, aches, and pains, I know firsthand what these can do to one’s body and its functionality, as well as the mental hurdles we all face at some point. I believe that knowing oneself and developing a strategy for adherence is key, so I therefore focus on educating clients not only on how to meet their goals, but also how to maintain their results long-term. I believe in evidence-based fitness programs that are tailored to the individual and include concepts that have a strong standing in the industry, as fitness is far from a one-size-fits-all model. I value my current and continuing education, and use a multi-faceted approach that involves focusing on habit change and behavioral modification, along with mindset and environmental awareness.
