Feather River Land Trust

The Feather River Land Trust (FRLT) conserves ecologically and culturally important lands and waters in the Feather River Watershed. With grassroots relationships and strategic partnerships, we’re working to safeguard the Sierra Nevada’s largest source of water and ensure that biodiverse ecosystems remain intact and healthy for our shared future. We’re currently working to conserve 120,000 acres of Feather River headwaters and globally unique wetlands, meadows, and forests for current and future generations. FRLT is a private, non-profit organization founded in 2000 by residents of the Feather River region. Rooted in our region, we also meet standards of excellence for national accreditation. Our diverse partnerships—from local landowners and Maidu communities to state and federal agencies—make us effective at permanently protecting crucial lands and water resources at a landscape scale. Our Mission: To conserve the lands and waters of the Feather River region and steward their ecological and cultural values for current and future generations. We accomplish our mission through three programs: * Land Protection: Conserve publicly important lands and waterways * Land Stewardship: Maintain, restore, and enhance land health and other publicly important conservation values like historic buildings and cultural resources * People and Land: Nurture and restore people’s relationship to land through nature-based education, recreation, and stewardship activities
