Velana International Airport (VIA) is the primary airport of the Maldives. Located on a separate island known as Hulhulé Island, VIA can be accessed within 10 minutes from Malé & Hulhumalé. VIA serves as the main gateway to the Maldives and is well connected with all major airports around the world. The airport also offers Lounge facilities including an executive lounge services for passengers who prefers privacy and do not wish to engage in a long and tedious airport process. Velana International Airport also houses the largest seaplane fleet in the world. At present, VIA is working on major projects to revolutionize and establish the airport we see today into a world class airport equipped with latest technology. The future developments of the airport include a new passenger terminal building, new runway, new apron, new cargo terminal, new fuel farm with fuel hydrant system and a new seaplane terminal.
