Karujog attempts at creating skilled craftsmen and entrepreneurs from underprivileged women through imparting trainings. Moreover, Karujog spends a substantial amount of its proceeds for the development of marginalised people of the society. Karujog is a combination of two bangla words. `Karu’ means a skilled maker or craftsmen and `Jog’ means to add. Here Karujog stands for empowering those rural craftsmen who are poverty stricken. Our Values Karujog values the goal of participatory development where the backward communities of the society have a key role in improving their own fate. This organisation plays the role of a catalyst to trigger substantial changes towards self earned development. We prioritize innovation that opens up opportunities for the marginalised to pull themselves out of poverty. We try to encourage the underprivileged to develop their traditional heritage through making innovative handicrafts. This will also create a sense of community feelings. Besides generating innovative urge among rural craftsmen, we also try to ensure transparency and accountability in all financial and general dealings to ensure our organisational ethic and commitment.
