Portugal Fashion
www.portugalfashion.comPORTUGAL FASHION embodies a way of disseminating opportunities among young people and supporting a true paradigm shift in the textile sector. Created in 1995, the project has managed, in 25 years, to assert itself as one of the largest Iberian fashion events, and has distinguished itself in the discovery of new values, in the creation of true partnerships between production and creation, as well as in the growing notoriety of Portuguese fashion on the national and international catwalks. PORTUGAL FASHION is currently more than a fashion event. It is synonymous with culture, modernism, and a commitment to promoting the national image, establishing itself as a reference of creativity and aesthetic sophistication of Portugal abroad. Both in Portugal and abroad, the investment in young designers also stands out as one of the pillars of PORTUGAL FASHION. The project seeks to work as a lever for emerging talents, in order to renew the panorama of national fashion and facilitate the integration of new designers in the labor market. The debut of PORTUGAL FASHION on the international catwalks happened in 1999, with the integration of five designers (Fátima Lopes, José António Tenente, Maria Gambina, Miguel Vieira, and Nuno Gama) and eight brands (Carlo Viscontti, Peter Murray, Selectif, Maconde, and Bruno Belloni, among others) in the São Paulo Fashion Week calendar.
