Founded in 2017, Summertide is a multinational ensemble theatre company that weaves stories surrounding themes of cross-cultural communication. But what exactly does it mean to "cross cultures"? We work with stories from around the world in their original and foreign languages, and adapt them to incorporate ties to their real life expatriated context. We guide audiences to understand stories through word, song, and dance despite any linguistic differences. We strive to bring “classic” theatre to new audiences by changing the context in which theatre is consumed; including anywhere from classrooms to parks to basement cellars. Taken together, we are a group of international storytellers; ready to listen, to create, and to learn in turn.
