Founded in 2015 by David Porteous, Gavin Krugel and Ignacio Mas, Digital Frontiers received initial funding from Omidyar and Mastercard Foundation and has long-term funding partnerships with FSD Africa and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. We are headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa with a distributed team in over 18 countries focused on delivering our capacity development programmes. Digital Frontiers incorporates the Digital Frontiers Institute (DFI), Gateway and Pathway to 17 and the Alliance of Digital Finance Professionals.
