We offer classes in martial arts and self defense. Our martial arts program consists of a traditional style of karate, known as kenpo. It utilizes a colored belt ranking system to indicate a student's progress from white belt to black belt. Students in our martial arts classes can expect to learn katas, sparring, and defense techniques against both armed and unarmed attacks. Advanced students also learn how to use traditional weapons, such as bo staff, nunchucks, and swords. The self defense program trains you to keep yourself safe in dangerous situations. Unlike the martial arts program, there is no belt system. However, more advanced techniques are learned as a student progresses through the program. This class is for everyone - no prior martial arts experience is necessary. Beginners in this program will learn to: - Identify potentially dangerous situations, - Diffuse a situation before it escalates to a physical confrontation, and - Defend and escape a hostile encounter or assault.
