In short, we’re different than the big banks —and we like it that way. We think you will, too. A little bit about our history. OK, so we weren’t always named UMe. The credit union—which was previously called Burbank Community Federal Credit Union—was chartered in 1940 by a group of Burbank Unified School District teachers. Back then, the credit union operated out of a teacher’s desk drawer. Today we are about 15,750 members strong and growing! And although our services and products have been upgraded and expanded, we remember our roots and we’re proud to continue a tradition that is true to our word and built on real people.
