BoneTag is a french start-up, based in Montpellier, which develops a unique and universal medical electronic implant. The BoneTag implant is intended to be placed in orthopaedic implants, in order to : 1. Ensure an identification and an in vivo traceability of orthopaedic implants, thanks to the use of passive RFID technology (RadioFrequency Identification) 2. Monitor the behaviour of orthopaedic implants along their life-time, thanks to the integration of sensors into the RFID chip. 3. Create an international register of orthopaedic implants throughout the world, thanks to an international database.
