I’m still working with the team as a part-time associate. Altamira (Yorkshire) Ltd will continue to deliver until the end of March 2023 by which time I’ll be 3 months from my 70th birthday when I’ll become a gentleman of leisure! We work with ambitious business teams to develop a detailed image of the future. Sales and profit are key but the focus is on everything that will make the numbers happen – markets, products and services, competitive processes, capacity, meeting client needs, routes to market, culture, managing performance and much more. By working hard to cover off all the bases, achieving the numbers becomes almost incidental. The value we bring to the table is our wide experience of best practice across a variety of business sectors acquired over many years working at the coal face which we can share with you and your team. The fresh perspective we introduce triggers new ways of thinking about the challenges and helps explore whether or not different ways of doing things would work for you. But having the ideas – however detailed – and a plan to make them happen is only the start. There are a number of facets to change which if addressed ensure you get the result you want – but left un-addressed will deliver unintended consequences.
