Modernbook Gallery was founded in November 1999. The artists represented, span the spectrum from emerging to mid-career. Their techniques may fall in the tradition of darkroom practices; venture into the realm of alternative or mixed media; or experiment with digital technology. In addition to the gallery space in San Francisco, Modernbook Editions, our publishing division, has published photographic monographs for artists such as Tom Chambers, Fan Ho, Brigitte Carnochan, Fred Lyon, Geir Jordahl, among others. To connect with art enthusiasts, outside the San Francisco Bay Area, Modernbook Gallery participates in numerous art fairs throughout the United States and Canada.
