Maluka Boards
www.malukaboards.comAmanda Henner, founder of Maluka boards grew up in a Swedish town where she shared a house with her mother and sister. She had always seen her mom gardening and renovating things around the house and being part of this somehow triggered the creativity inside of her with paintings and drawings as result. It was when she moved to Barcelona in 2012 that she continued to discover more of her creative being. She explored longboarding, along the coastal lines of Barcelona, found herself surfing the Portuguese waves and went snowboarding in Andorra. As well over time she had developed a big interest for wood crafts. And so over the years she collected different interests: boards, art and crafting wood. Which during a three-month travel in South Africa all came together in an idea to create her own business combining all these things. Maluka was born. And just like the parts of her creative interest came together so did the parts of the board as well; The deck; flexible and strong made out of 100% bamboo, the grip tape made out of sand. All as sustainable and nature friendly as possible using only water based clear coating and glue. Maluka is always looking out for the most environmental friendly options to work with. You’ll find this natural feeling in all of the boards, as well in the business cards, stickers and packaging which are all made from recycled material and printed with water based ink. ‘’With Maluka we want to change the industry of action sports focused on boards used in water, mountains and streets. On the social aspect it’s our desire to bring people with different interest together. Whether you have been doing board sports for years or are willing to challenge yourself to try something new, Maluka is a fit to everyone’s lifestyle. We are extremely grateful that we can be working with something that we love doing every day. And for you we wish the same, hoping that this board will bring you towards wherever you want to be.’’
