The Bushnell’s Basin Fire Association (BBFD), Incorporated protects the southwest area of the Town of Perinton, New York. BBFD responded to almost 400 calls for assistance in 2007. Bushnell’s Basin firefighters provide fire suppression, rescue, hazardous materials response, mutual aid and non-transport emergency medical services. BBFD is an all volunteer organization staffed by more than 70 volunteers. Along with emergency services, an on-going Public Education program is offered and last year more than 700 area children took part in that program. Safety training is also provided to local adult groups as well as employees of local businesses.
