TainData has been a developer and vendor of automated data monitoring and control systems for over 30 years. Its major products and services have been focused on viticulture, agriculture, turf management, education, academic research, and industrial automation. Since the mid 1990s, TainData has been a leading supplier of soil moisture monitoring technology to the Australian wine industry, with its products used by some of Australia's biggest and most respected wine producers. In 2015 TainData released the Tierra, a highly capable soil moisture and environmental data logger that is controlled and interrogated by a smartphone, with data shared automatically to the web and other smartphone users in the same organisation.
