Food Walks of Texas was established in 2017 as a way to showcase McKinney's fascinating history, amazing foodie scene, and the continuing and exciting revitalization of the historic downtown Square. In the past decade the commercial district in downtown McKinney has exploded offering a large variety of eateries and restaurants with creative and renowned chefs, many of whom are committed to strengthening our local economy and pushing the bounds of the farm-to-table food movement, in addition to numerous unique shops. Historic downtown McKinney is a true destination - it has one of the oldest thriving historic downtowns in Texas, dating back to 1845. We'll revisit the days of dirt streets and cowboys up through to present day. On our food tours, we strive to achieve three objectives: sharing our knowledge of the city’s unique history and architecture, introducing you to our valued restaurant partners who are serving tasty eats, and ensuring you have a fun and memorable experience.
