Established in 2012, Centre of Equity and Quality in Universal Education (CEQUE: www.ceque.org) is a Mumbai headquartered NGO working towards the cause of educating teachers and students in Semi-Urban and Rural Maharashtra. CEQUE enables teachers to learn and teach better. We aim to transform classroom teaching for measurable change to student learning in government and low-income private schools. Through our Teacher Innovator Program, we work intensively to coach teachers in innovative teaching methods across 6 districts in Maharashtra. Over 550 teachers across 400 schools have been coached over the past 8 years impacting the lives of over 11,000 children. We mentor school leaders in academic leadership skills that provide effective instructional support to teachers. And we create high quality, open-source videos of lesson ideas, filmed in the classrooms of innovative teachers. At CEQUE, we work with the existing Government schooling system, to strengthen it, so that the dream of quality education for all can be fulfilled.
