Alaska Peninsula Corporation (APC) is a merged Alaska Native village corporation with more than 800 shareholders. APC was formed in 1978 when the village corporations for South Naknek and Port Heiden merged. In short succession, the village corporations for Ugashik (1980), Kokhanok (1980), and Newhalen (1981), joined APC. APC is a major land owner in the Bristol Bay region, with over 650,000 acres of land holdings. APC’s geographic reach extends from the Iliamna Lake region, to the lower portion of the Alaska Peninsula. APC’s holdings are some of the worlds’ most prolific and purest watersheds. Famous for it’s trophy fishing and hunting, our lands are also a cultural treasure, as the ancestors of APC’s Native shareholders have existed and subsisted on the bounty of these lands for thousands of years. APC’s 800 plus shareholders come from highly diversified backgrounds. Although many shareholders continue to reside throughout the Bristol Bay region, many shareholders are spread throughout Alaska and the world. A number of our shareholders of all ages are completing college programs and are involved with continuing education from college and University systems, trade schools, apprenticeship programs and other training and educational systems. APC owns subsidiary businesses involved with government & commercial contracting in transportation & logistics, environmental consultation services & remediation, administrative and management services and electrical services.
